Sarcophagic | Only Death Is Real

On my last birthday I got a USB Turntable from my girlfriend, and it’s great to be able to digitalise all my old vinyl records, but it takes time… well, not that long, just the time it takes to play the record. I have done a couple of albums, but most of the time I just use it to listen to my old vinyl records.

One of the first records I tested it on was the superb None Shall Defy by Infernäl Mäjesty, and this monstrous album is still great 20 years after its release.

Tom G. Fischer’s departure from Celtic Frost is a big loss, I had my hopes that another strong Celtic Frost album would be on its way… but that will NOT happen, this seems to be the end.

But after reading The Warriors blog I feel a little better, this is a quote from his blog
“I saw “Monotheist” as only the first of hopefully several distincive albums by this group. I thus plan on continuing exactly in the artistic vein of Celtic Frost. I had very a distinct vision of what the next two Celtic Frost albums might consist of, and I intend to eventually fulfill this vision and complete these albums with a new group.“

The Swedish music magazine Close-Up is turning hundred (issues) this month, I have been a subscriber for many years and it’s a great mag. To celebrate it they have listed the 100 “best” album from 1991 – 2008 (according to the Close-up staff). The winner was At the Gates with Slaughter of the Soul, thats fine, it’s a great album that should be in the top, but to see that they completely left out Dissection is a scandal!! In my book, The Somberlain, Storm of the Light’s Bane and Reinkaos should be top 10.
