After a tip from the blog I Just Can’t Hate Enough I ordered the debutalbum from Swedish In Solitude, and I am impressed!! This was just what I was searching for, lots of guitar harmonys and a classic heavy metal sound with just the right production.

Carnal leftovers
The year 2008 is heading for decapitation and it’s time to sum up the best albums of the year. A very hard thing to do, but here is my top 11.
1. Satyricon – The Age of Nero
2. Agrimonia – s/t
3. Aura Noir – Hades Rise
4. Opeth – Watershed
5. Toxic Holocaust – An Overdose of Death
6. Judas Priest – Nostradamus
7. Testament – The Formation of Damnation
8. Dismember – s/t
9. Metallica – Death Magnetic
10. In Flames – A sense of purpose
11. Grand Magus – Iron will
It’s difficult to pick out the very “best”. The only place I am certain of is number one.
Somewhat Peculiar
The Swedish music magazine Close-Up is turning hundred (issues) this month, I have been a subscriber for many years and it’s a great mag. To celebrate it they have listed the 100 “best” album from 1991 – 2008 (according to the Close-up staff). The winner was At the Gates with Slaughter of the Soul, thats fine, it’s a great album that should be in the top, but to see that they completely left out Dissection is a scandal!! In my book, The Somberlain, Storm of the Light’s Bane and Reinkaos should be top 10.
Out of Hand
I love to get my hands on a new album, put it in the stereo, follow the lyrics and be swept away… mostly metal finds it way into my stereo but some hardcore and punk can also be digested.
